The Finds
All finds were displayed and commented upon to all diggers and others interested in the dig at a concluding meeting on the second day. Paul Blinkhorn, a pottery expert, provided an instant analysis on the day and then a fuller, more considered, report in the following days.
A summary of the 2009 finds of different periods from prehistoric to modern can be seen on the Access Cambridge Archaeology at http://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/aca/cottenham.html . Follow the link to the Pottery Distribution Map if you wish to see the PowerPoint slides illustrating which pits produced what finds. Paul Blinkhorn’s report on all the pits can also be viewed on the same website.
The finds and the Test Pit Records were retained for future analysis by the university.
