The site of this test-pit appears to have been almost continually occupied throughout the medieval period, from about AD1150 onwards. It then seems to have been largely abandoned until the 19thcentury. There was also a sherd of Roman pottery present. Context 6 appears to be an undisturbed medieval horizon
